Our makeup and sfx courses offer the unique opportunity to learn from professionals within the makeup industry. These informative and fun classes are taught by Emmy, BAFTA and RTS award winner Davy Jones. Per year, MakeupSFX runs two to three courses (with more courses if the demand requires), which aim to develop your prosthetic makeup skill set and bring you up to a level suitable for entering the industry.

Do I really need basic makeup and hair skills to do SFX?
No, but there will be less chance of work for you. At MakeupSFX, we strongly advise our students to become trained in all elements of makeup and hair as this enables a wider spectrum of work.
Will I finish the course with a qualification?
No, if you pass you will receive a specific MakeupSFX certificate, which recognises your ability to successfully work with prosthetic makeup, paving your way for your future career.
